The leaves of a tree are so easily lost in the winter. They just snap off when the wind urges them to do so. After spending so much time growing and maturing they leave it all to answer the call of the wind.
We are like leaves. We begin as buds, barely anything but destined to grow. And over time we do grow, we mature into beautiful leaves. But time goes by and we sometimes begin to loose sight of the marvelous tree that we’ve clung to for so long. Then Satan comes along and we listen to his enticing songs. They charm our souls and we long to follow him. Before we know it we’re plummeting to a grave, following the path of many other fallen leaves.
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
-Matthew 26:41
Jesus warned us not to fall away from the Lord. He knew that our spirits are strong and our flesh cannot be trusted. But unfortunately we choose to listen to desires of our flesh over the desires of our spirits.
Cling to the Tree, who is your Lord and Savior. Do not let the winds knock you over. Stay with God and you won’t fall prey to same fate as so many others.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.”
